Project Scope

Building a compliant digital platform

Research

I led interviews with patients, clinicians, and researchers to understand complex behaviors around symptom tracking, data interpretation, and privacy. These insights grounded the experience in real needs while surfacing expectations around trust, clarity, and compliance.

Concept

I translated insights into a scalable, system-driven design approach built on reusable components and slot-based patterns. This ensured the product could support 200+ symptoms and multiple platforms while remaining intuitive and consistent.

Test

I ran iterative usability testing to evaluate comprehension, ease of use, and trust—especially around sensitive health data. Feedback informed refinements across both iOS and web experiences to make complex information feel clear and actionable.

Validate

I partnered with engineering to validate designs against technical feasibility and compliance standards like HIPAA and GDPR. This ensured the system was secure, scalable, and ready for real-world use without compromising the experience.

Design approach

Scalable UI for consistent UX

To support a symptom tracker covering an initial set of 40 conditions, we implemented a slot-based component system. Rather than designing bespoke interfaces for each symptom, we defined a flexible content model where symptoms could be assembled from interchangeable slots such as intensity, duration and triggers.

Healthcare Provider view

Daily Symptoms into Clear Signals

The same design system was carried through the physician experience, creating consistency across every touchpoint while reducing development lift. Shared components, patterns and logic allowed teams to move faster, scale more efficiently and deliver a more cohesive product end to end.
